Ashley Barnhill

Ashley Barnhill is from San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and soon after she went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law.

Around that time, Ashley found Twitter and got her start writing jokes in miniature. Since then, she has become a contributor to and was recently featured on the Huffington Post's "18 Funny Women You Should Be Following on Twitter."

Ashley soon after moved her delivery to the stage and became known for her dark and compact one-liners. She's performed at festivals such as the Moontower Comedy Festival and the New York Comedy Festival, and she recently headlined the New Orleans Comedy Arts Festival. The Austin Chronicle spotlighted Ashley's stand-up, saying "finding her strength in the caustic, surprise one-liner, Barnhill's style frequently skews morbid, from the slow death of a relationship to actual, real, slow death."

Ashley has written and acted in many of her own sketch videos that have been front-page featured on Funny or Die and Huffington Post. Most recently she wrote, produced, edited and acted in the sketch "#blessed," which the Huffington Post referred to as "a twisted take on daily affirmations."

Ashley has studied sketch and improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) and is trained in the Meisner Technique. She is the lead in the upcoming independent feature film Here There Now Year Ago. You can also catch her in the film The Dividing Line at the Bare Bones International Independent Film & Music Festival this April.
